calendar 2.0

Made another paint sample dry erase calendar... who is the lucky recipient you ask? Well... we'll just have to wait and see :)

Also, total cost for this project? Zero dollars. Yes, please.

welcome home girlfriend.

So tonight was my first (of hopefully many) book club gatherings. The book we read was Water for Elephants. I would recommend it. And then of coarse we watched the movie tonight. (Didn't completely live up to the book, but I love my gal Reese Witherspoon)
But the best part is where this small gathering was held. It was at a place called "Welcome Home Girlfriend" and it was a grand adventure. It's the vision of the owner and is defenitly a place I will return to. She collected many a things for years, always claiming to have this vision... and now we all can partake in it. It's a wonderful place for girlfriends to gather :)
My silly phone pictures do not do it justice. Also, her grandkids are the luckiest kids in the world!

motivation.

I had a hint of it today.

It led me to clean the living room & vacuum, wash the dishes, and organize a big craft drawer which desperately needed it. Which brings me to the next part. I found this old 12x12 wooden frame thing from over a year ago that I suddenly HAD to do something with. I saw on Pinterest a way to make "modge podge", which turned out to really just be a type of collage glue... so that's what I made to complete my frame project.

Basically I just mixed some (Rose Art- bleck!!) school glue, some Tacky glue and water in an old peanut butter jar and shook it. It got the job done... still a little watery for anything but thinner paper. (The majority of what I used was oragami paper.) I forgot to take a 'before' photo (how typical!) but here's the result!

An homage to our Honeymoon :)
(And yes, it found its way to the bathroom. It coordinated well and I'm pretty much out of wall space everywhere else...)

Happy Crafting!

blueberries.

Made these lovely Blueberry Crumbly Muffins tonight, inspired by this cute lady. Oh man, even though they're not as pretty to look at as hers, they are delish. And, like her, I had all the ingredients in the house so how could I not give it a go? Not to shabby for a first timer with crappy foil muffin tins...

one year.

paper.

I told Husby that he was to make me something out of paper - paper being the traditional 1st year anniversary gift, and today just being that. So what did he make for me?

...a pile of poop. How sweet.
